Q: How often should
I replace my air filter?
A: Your air filter should be replaced
every 3 to 4 months. An easy way to figure out if your filter is affecting the air flow in your home would be; remove
it from the system, and either hold it up to a light or hold a flashlight to the back of the filter. Air flow is similar
to water flow, it follows the path of least resistance. A dirty filter would be clogged with dirt, dust, and debrie.
The dirty filter would show little, if any, light passing through. It is time to replace it.
Q: How do I locate my air filters?
A: Your
systems air filters should be located in one of two places. The first, most common, place for air filters to be
located is in your systems air handler, or furnace. Make sure your system is turned off before removing the filter.
The second location that your air filter may be located is in your return air filter grill. This would be the largest
vent either in your floor, wall, or ceiling and fairly close to the location or your air handler, or furnace. The size
of your filter depends on the unit, most air filters should have the dimensions written on the border.
Q: There is poor air flow through the vents in my house, why?
A: Poor air flow could be a serious failure. The first item to check would be your air filter.
If the air filter is dirty, this could be the answer to your question. If not, call Blue Star, and we will come to your house and give you a free price quote to fix or change any problems you are experiencing.
Q: I don't feel
any air flow in 1 or more rooms in my house, why?
A: This
could be a duct system failure. Your duct system are the veins, or piping, of your HVAC system. One or more
of your ducts could have been damaged or become unattached to the rest of the system. Call Blue Star, and we will come and take digital pictures of your ducts and the possible failure. We will also
give you the free price quote to fix the issue.
Q: How long does it take to replace my HVAC system?
A: This varies depending on the size and work performed on the job site.
Some jobs could be finished in as little as one full day, while other, more extensive jobs need more time. Blue
Star prides itself in quality of work. We would rather spend more time on making you, our customer happy and satisfied, than
rip out and throw in a new system. No matter what happens, "you never pay more than your qouted price".
